Come Over October

Why We Love Hosting – Especially in the Fall

There’s something about fall that just calls for gathering people together. Maybe it’s the cooler evenings and golden light, or maybe it’s the chance to finally slow down after the bustle of harvest. Whatever it is, this is our favorite time to open the doors, set the table, and fill the house with laughter (and wine, of course).

For us, hosting can look a lot of different ways. Sometimes it’s as simple as inviting a few friends over for a casual chili night – everyone brings a topping, and we pour something bold and earthy (like our Cabernet Franc) to match. Other times, we like to go a little fancier: a cozy dinner party with roasted squash soup, good bread, and candles flickering all the way down the table. Either way, it’s never about perfection – it’s about gathering with people we love and making people feel at home.

When the evenings turn crisp, we often find ourselves reaching for one of our Cabernet Sauvignons. There’s something about them that feel just right this time of year – especially when paired with slow-cooked meals and good conversation. A bottle (or two!) around the table seems to have a way of making everyone settle in and stay a little longer.

If you’re looking for a little fall hosting inspiration, here are a few of our favorite ways to gather at home:

  • Backyard harvest dinner: Set up a long table outside, add string lights, and serve roasted vegetables and hearty pastas with a few bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon.
  • Game night with neighbors: Keep it simple with snacks, small bites, and an easy-drinking red that keeps the laughter going.
  • Sunday soup night: Big pot of something comforting on the stove, crusty bread on the counter, and everyone bringing a side or dessert.
  • Firepit evening: Blankets, music, toasted marshmallows, and a glass of red under the stars—no need to overthink it.
  • Casual tasting night: Open a few bottles from different vintages or varietals and see which pairs best with your favorite fall dishes.

At the end of the day, that’s what we love most about this season – the ease, the warmth, and the way wine has a knack for turning any evening into something memorable, and we encourage you to invite people to come over this October.

Here’s to open doors, full glasses, and friends who always love to come over.
